Deborah Wiles' Wild Flowers of Nova Scotia
Deborah Wiles forwarded these photos of three of her recent paintings in her series on Wildflowers of Nova Scotia to NS Wild Flora President Charles Cron. From Deborah (Oct. 5, 2011):
This series of paintings were inspired by my friend Tim's photographs, he's a woodsman there and spends every day out and about in the woods all over the province of Nova Scotia, he has a great camera with a macro lens so has an entire library of photos!
… I was inspired by his photos so am creating this series based on them. My aim is to paint 50 paintings by the end of November and then sell them off to raise funds for the modest International Artists' Retreat that I am building in Nova Scotia. The goal is to raise $10-15,000 with this series of paintings. I will sell the paintings for $300. each, or 2 for $500.
Any promotion that you could give this endeavor would be so helpful. I've just finished Lady Slipper no. 11 and have attached that as well as two other images.
If you have any ideas that could help spread the word about this project I would love to hear them!
I'm so looking forward to being in a position to bring artist's from all over the world to Nova Scotia to experience the beauty it has to offer!
We can certainly share Deborah's sentiments, so well expressed in her paintings. |
