Otter Brook Field Trip Sep 26 and Cape Breton follow up

The field trip to Otter Brook is confirmed for Saturday Sep. 26 at 11:00AM. We will park and meet at the side of Otterbrook Branch Road 45.249438, -63.025714. Best route there is probably Highway 289 East from 102 at Brookfield for 20 km to turn left at Otterbrook Rd. Head north for 3 km then turn left at Otterbrook Branch Rd. The destination is approx 600m up the road opposite 279-11 Otterbrook Branch Rd, where the brook starts to veer away from the road.

So far, 6 people have expressed interest in the trip. If you are interested in joining us, please email novascotiawildflora@gmail.com to register. Weather day will be Saturday Oct. 3

As for Cape Breton, accommodation seems to be a challenge, but we have a solution to propose. There is an AirBnB house in Cheticamp available Oct. 16-17 with 6 bedrooms (7 beds), kitchen and 2 baths for $792 plus tax. That would work out to $132 per room, plus tax. Meal costs and travel would be on top of this. Please let us know if you would be interested in this trip. If there is sufficient interest, we will book the house, provided it is still available, and then put forth an itinerary.
